The course covers respiratory anatomy and physiology, the mechanics of breathing, indications for artificial ventilation, potential complications and patient safety. Learners will also develop an understanding of respiratory procedures including cough assist, nebulisers and suction, as well as their roles and responsibilities when caring for people who require ventilation.
