Catheter Care Training Course
This Catheter Care Training Course is designed for nurses, healthcare assistants, carers and other care staff responsible for supporting people with urinary catheters. The training develops practical knowledge and confidence in safe catheter care, catheter maintenance, infection prevention and catheter bag management, helping staff provide effective, dignified and person-centred care.
The course covers types of urinary catheters, relevant anatomy, catheter care procedures, infection prevention and control, equipment, documentation and common catheter-related complications. Learners will develop an understanding of their responsibilities when caring for individuals with a catheter and how to recognise and respond appropriately to potential problems.
