CPAP & BiPAP Awareness
An overview of each of these air delivery systems, their uses, advantages, and potential drawbacks are covered in this CPAP and BiPAP Awareness training course. A variety of commercially accessible standard equipment is used in the practical, simulated assessment.
Know the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory tract.
Be able to describe the mechanics of breathing.
Understand the indications for artificial ventilation.
Demonstrate a knowledge of the complications of artificial ventilation.
Know the theory of managing artificial ventilated person.
Understand additional procedures that require training e.g. cough assist, nebulisers, suction.
Understand your role in relation to local policies and procedures.
