CPAP & BiPAP Awareness

An overview of each of these air delivery systems, their uses, advantages, and potential drawbacks are covered in this CPAP and BiPAP Awareness training course. A variety of commercially accessible standard equipment is used in the practical, simulated assessment.

CPAP & BiPAP Awareness
  • Know the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory tract.

  • Be able to describe the mechanics of breathing.

  • Understand the indications for artificial ventilation.

  • Demonstrate a knowledge of the complications of artificial ventilation.

  • Know the theory of managing artificial ventilated person.

  • Understand additional procedures that require training e.g. cough assist, nebulisers, suction.

  • Understand your role in relation to local policies and procedures.
