Suction & Nebuliser Training
Our Suction & Nebuliser Training course provides healthcare professionals, nurses, carers and support staff with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely provide oral suctioning and nebuliser therapy. The course covers respiratory assessment, airway clearance, oxygen therapy, suction and nebuliser equipment, safe procedures, infection prevention, potential complications and the responsibilities involved in supporting people with respiratory needs.
This course covers:
Respiratory anatomy, physiology and oxygen transport
Recognising and managing hypoxia and respiratory difficulties
Oxygen therapy, including high- and low-concentration oxygen
Oral suctioning: indications, equipment, positioning and safe procedures
Recognising different types of respiratory secretions
Nebuliser therapy, equipment, medications and potential risks
Safe use, cleaning and maintenance of suction and nebuliser equipment
Recognising potential complications and responding appropriately
Consent, patient safety, ethical and legal responsibilities
