Tracheostomy Care Training
Our Tracheostomy Care Training course provides healthcare professionals, nurses, carers and support staff with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely care for and support people with a tracheostomy. The course covers tracheostomy anatomy and physiology, tube care and maintenance, suctioning, infection prevention, communication, emergency procedures and recognising potential complications.

Different types of tracheostomy tubes and their components
Routine tracheostomy care, cleaning and tube maintenance
Tracheal suctioning and safe airway management
Infection prevention and maintaining a clean, safe environment
Recognising and responding to tracheostomy complications, including blockage and dislodgement
Emergency tracheostomy management
Communication and person-centred care for people with a tracheostomy
