Paediatric Basic Life Support (PBLS)

Paediatric Basic Life Support (PBLS) describes a set of basic life saving first aid techniques given to children who need it. This may include cardiac arrest, difficulty breathing, or blocked airway. The aim of PBLS is to maintain blood circulation and breathing until medical help arrives.

This course covers the theory of Paediatric Basic Life Support skills and includes skills for child and infant as well as variations on infant CPR. The course includes safety, precautions, initial assessment, recovery position, CPR, compression-only CPR, and choking.
