Safeguarding Adults Level 1 & 2

Our Safeguarding Adults Level 1 & 2 course aims to provide candidates with the knowledge and ability to recognise and appropriately respond to adult abuse when it occurs, or when it's suspected within the society and care sectors.

Safeguarding Adults Level 1 & 2
  • Learn to recognize potential indicators of abuse, harm, and neglect.

  • Understand what action to take if there are concerns, including who to report concerns to and seek advice from.

  • Gain a basic knowledge of the relevant legislation related to safeguarding adults.

  • Understand what constitutes harm, abuse, and neglect.

  • Learn to ensure effective advocacy is provided where required, especially for individuals with mental capacity and/or communication issues.

  • Identify professional roles, responsibilities, and boundaries in a multidisciplinary team and multi-agency setting in safeguarding adults.

  • Learn how and when to refer to social care if an adult safeguarding concern is identified.

  • Learn how to document safeguarding concerns in a format that appropriately informs relevant staff and agencies.

  • Understand how to maintain appropriate records, including differentiating between fact and opinion, in relation to safeguarding adults.

  • Identify the appropriate and relevant information and how to share it with other teams.

  • Understand key statutory and non-statutory guidance and legislation, including the Human Rights Act and UK mental capacity legislation.

  • Become aware of the risk factors for radicalization and know who to contact regarding preventive action.
